Sunday, September 25, 2011

Given the fact that there is an iPhone and iPad app for nearly every hobby and interest under the sun, if you have a senior or sick dog then it may not surprise you to know that there are numerous different apps that could not only make your dog’s life a lot easier, but also even extend your dog’s life as well.

If you recently purchased a new iPad and you’re interested in scouting out the different pet-lover apps on the web, here are five different iPhone and iPad apps every dog lover should be aware
of:

1.       Pet First Aid ($3.99)
This app is considered to be one of the best pet-related apps on the web, and once you download it it’s easy to see why.  With one simple tap you can view numerous different informative articles and videos that educate you on how to take care of your pet, and you can also keep tabs on your pet’s medical records, as well as their pulse, breathing rate, appearance and much more.

2.       Pet Sitter ($0.99)
Let’s face it: Dogs get bored too; especially if you work up to 40 hours a week and spend the majority of your day away from home. But if you leave the house for more than a few hours and you happen to own an iPad, then entertaining your dog while you’re away has never been so easy. This app is actually designed to help distract your pet while you’re way so you never have to worry about your dog howling or barking and annoying the neighbours.
Simply place your iPad in the same room as your dog before you go out to work, and then customize the app so it will play different sounds to help entertain your dog for hours on end.

3.       Pet Owner’s Manual ($1.99)
Not only does this app come with tons of different first aid tips as well as a built-in GPS so you can find the closest veterinarian office to you, a portion of the proceeds will also be donated to the ASPCA as well.

4.       Dog Doctor ($3.99)
This useful app is a “must-have” for any dog owner who has a sick and/or senior dog, and it will educate you on how to take care of your dog’s teeth, ears and overall health.

5.       PetSnap ($1.99)
And last, but certainly not least, this fun and entertaining app is great for any iPad/dog lover who loves to take pictures of their beloved pets. The app comes with 32 different sounds so you can simply play one of the installed sounds (like a dog barking or a bell ringing), catch your dog’s attention, and then snap a memorable picture for you to enjoy for a lifetime. (The app also comes with several different photo frames and you also have the option of uploading the photo directly to your e-mail and Facebook profile as well).
